Responding to our client’s love for their property but dissatisfaction with the existing house, Evolva Architects proposed an alternative that is rational, functional and sculptural. The Arc reflects the owners’ love of mid-century modern and affinity for natural stone, and their need to accommodate a growing family. Its curved form hugs the slope and bends towards the sun while capturing treetop views. The industrial, black steel skeleton expresses the radial grid upon which the layout is based and contrasts with the hewn stone shard at the heart of the house.
