Behind its enigmatic façade this monumental yet understated house is the epitome of elegance and visual simplicity. The plan is based on a centuries-old Spanish quadrangular spatial arrangement, where all the rooms open off a central space. A soaring clerestory window throws dramatic north light deep inside, casting shadows onto towering internal walls. Outside, an oasis of garden and pool, surrounded by high walls, conveys a monastic sense of tranquillity.
